My Social Strand
For Be The Match, a leader in the fight against leukemia and other blood related cancers, we recently launched My Social Strand, a microsite that connects to Facebook to turn your online social life into a personalized infographic.
Objectives
Educate potential donors about bone marrow transplants and the power each person has to save a life; Encourage existing donors to recommit to the cause.
Solution
Create an interactive, personalized, share-able infographic that highlights how we are all unique yet connected, mirroring the uniqueness of bone marrow matches.
Results
Within the first few days, the campaign surpassed traffic and engagement expectations and was featured on Mashable. So far there have been over 20,000 social strands created, with almost half of participants sharing their results across the social graph. The campaign has added almost 60,000 new fans to the Be The Match page and with the help of our community management experts, has led to a 200% increase in engagement.
